Are Pinvoke Fugue icons the new FAMFAMFAM?
We still love FAMFAMFAM icons. They are everywhere online, but as they say, a change is good as a holiday, and we’re booked on a flight to Fugue Island.
Version 1.0 of the Pinvoke Fugue icon set was released by Yusuke Kamiyamane on October 12, 2008 under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.
This superbly hand-crafted crafted set contains 1000 24bit PNG 16x16 web icons, perfect for your next web app or site. One of the many features of this set is that it contains slight style and size variations of the same icon allowing you to mix and match. The cross, plus, and tick subsets are a couple of examples.
I’ve included a sample of the icons below. If you like what you see you can download the full set from Pinvoke.com. While you’re there don’t forget to checkout the Diagona icons as well.
The icons can be used absolutely free for any personal or commercial projects. But to remove the attribution, you’ll need to purchase a license.
Overall it’s an impressive set and a great alternative to FAMFAMFAM, which unfortunately have become a little tired of late due to their popularity. If you’re after something fresh, they may be just what you’re looking for, and they’re bound to satisfy any icon craving, no matter how large.
